Stuck in Hollow Tide Expedition? Read the scenery
Hollow Tide Expedition doesn't hold your hand, and that's the appeal — but it also means a lot of players get stuck and assume they've missed something. Usually they haven't. The answer is almost always somewhere on screen.
When I got blocked, backtracking to earlier islands with fresh eyes solved it more often than not. A symbol I ignored the first time suddenly made sense once I understood the game's visual language.
Turn the sound up. Audio cues genuinely matter here — a mechanism clicking or water shifting tells you your last action did something, even when the effect is off-screen.
Take screenshots of symbols and patterns. The game expects you to connect clues across different areas, and the phone makes that easy if you plan ahead.
Resist the urge to rush a walkthrough. Half the joy is the moment a puzzle finally clicks on its own terms.
